Kiran Rathod was born on 11th January 1981 in Jaipur, Rajasthan, her father Mohan Singh and mother Anita Singh. She studied in Saint Soldiers School (Jaipur), and with her popularity in the Bollywood, Tolywood, and Kollywood, she is now being called as the “Jewel of Jaipur.”
She has a fetish for films since childhood, hut she has never thought that someday she would turn to an actress. During her school days, she participated in many stage programs and won prizes. She started her career as model and her friends used to insists her to turn to an actor like her cousin Raveena Tandon. She used to accompany Raveena to the film sets; this is how she gets acquainted to film stars and filmdom.
Movie Career
Her debut Bollywood appearance was in Subhash Ghai’s Yaadein in 2001 in which she was starred opposite to Hritik Roshan.
She is a fairer skin beauty with plump figure which is very necessary for the actress to be successful in Southern Indian Movies. Raveena’s manager then brought her the offer to act in Tamil film to be produced by AVMA. She was hesitant earlier because of language problem, but when Director Charan convinced her; she accepted the offer to play as a heroin in Gemini (2002), AVM’s 100th film. This film fared well at box office and she even bagged best new comer award.
Her other movies include Thandavam and Jaani Dushman: Ek Anokhi Kahani, both released on 2002 and Anbe Sivam (2003), New (2004). Then she took a year-long break in 2005 and returned in 2006 with Saawan: The Love Season and Souten: The Other Woman. Kiran Rathod is noted for her cameo role in the movie New (2004), with Simran & S.J Suryah.
Kiran Rathod is the favorite for filmmakers because beside the ingrained talent and beauty, she is very competitive to the cost she chage for her roles. It ahs been said that she chage just the 50%of the cost charged by Simran and Jyothika, other famous Tamil actress.
She has also acted in many Telugu films and has lured many audiences with her hot-hot performance in Andaru Dongaley Dorikithey. And she has become a tough competitor to another Tollywood product Namitha.
